For kitchens, we'd generally point you towards LVT or waterproof SPC/WPC vinyl, since both cope well with spills, foot traffic and the odd dropped pan. Water-resistant laminate can also work in a kitchen with lower spill risk. Solid wood is best avoided close to sinks and dishwashers, where moisture exposure is highest.

Bathrooms need a genuinely waterproof floor, which rules out laminate, solid wood and most engineered wood. Our SPC and WPC vinyl ranges have a fully waterproof rigid core, making them the safer choice, alongside click or glue-down LVT in a well-ventilated bathroom.

Neither is objectively "better" — it depends on the room. LVT has the edge for water resistance and realism underfoot, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms and busy family areas. Laminate tends to be more budget-friendly and offers a slightly harder, more scratch-resistant surface, making it a strong choice for living rooms, bedrooms and hallways with lower moisture exposure.

Engineered wood is generally the more practical choice for UK homes: its layered construction makes it more stable across temperature and humidity changes, and it's suitable for underfloor heating, which solid wood usually isn't. Solid wood offers greater longevity through repeated sanding and a more traditional feel, but needs more careful conditions and maintenance in return.

For sheer day-to-day resilience, SPC vinyl and higher AC-rated laminate tend to perform best, since both resist scratches, dents and moisture well. Engineered wood with a thicker wear layer can also be sanded and refinished if it does get damaged, giving it a different kind of long-term durability. The right choice really depends on the household — pets, footfall and moisture all play a part.

Unopened, unused flooring can be returned within 30 days for a full refund. Custom or cut-to-order items are non-returnable, so we always recommend confirming your choice with samples first.

We deliver across Mainland UK and Northern Ireland, with most orders arriving within 3–5 working days of confirmation. You can choose your delivery day at checkout, and we'll send tracking details and a delivery window by email and SMS the day before. If you're not quite ready, we can also store your order free of charge for up to 4 weeks.

We focus on supplying and delivering flooring rather than fitting it ourselves, so most customers either fit their floor themselves — laminate, LVT and click SPC are all designed for straightforward DIY installation — or arrange a local, qualified fitter. Our team is happy to talk through what your chosen flooring needs before you start, including subfloor prep and acclimatization.

Measure the length and width of your room in meters, multiply them together for the area in m², then add extra for wastage: around 5–10% for a standard plank layout, rising to 10–15% for herringbone, chevron or diagonal layouts, where more cutting is involved. Always round up to the nearest full pack, and order a little extra if you're planning matching repairs later.
